Quick To Listen

Are you quick to listen to find the heart of your child?

James 1:19-20 says, “Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires” (NLT). If you jump in to speak first, you may never find out the true heart feelings of your child.

Follow the leading of the Holy Spirit as you value the heart of your son or daughter. You may have a preference for how you communicate… but learn to know what is helpful for them.  In any case, your anger will not help your child open up to you. Anger will communicate that you are not safe. Allow God’s love to transform you from the inside out. Let His love flow through you as you truly listen to our child.
