The Desires of Your Heart

Do you have the desires of your heart?

Psalm 37:3-4 says “Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.Delight yourself also in the Lord,And He shall give you the desires of your heart.”

God promises you the desires of your heart when you rely totally on Him and place your confidence completely in Him. When you delight yourself in Him, the secret petitions of your heart begin to come into agreement with the intimate will of God for your life. He is for you. He has made you in a certain way to bring glory and honor to Him. As you walk in how He has made you, in obedience to His will, the passions of your heart will be fulfilled.

All Things Work For Good

All Things Work For Good

May 16, 2013

“Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good” Romans 8:26-28 The Message Bible.

Have you ever been tired of waiting.

Did you know that God is the One who is helping you and I along.  When you don’t know what to pray or what to say, turn to Him, he knows.  He will pray through you giving you the words. He knows you better than you know yourself. He is the One that puts plans in your life and then accomplishes them for God.

Really, there is no condemnation, there is no accusation when you walk by God’s Word, His will, and His way. You can trust Him completely.  He cares about every detail of your life and He will bring good in your life. So trust Him to work all things together for good.

God’s Finishing Power

Every time you cross my mind, I break out in exclamations of thanks to God. Each exclamation is a trigger to prayer. I find myself praying for you with a glad heart. I am so pleased that you have continued on in this with us, believing and proclaiming God’s Message, from the day you heard it right up to the present. There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears” Philippians 1:3-6 The Message Bible.

Do you every wonder if you will be able to finish what has been begun in you?

I have good news for you today. Jesus is both the author and the finisher of your faith.  You and I can be confident in the Goodness of God. You don’t have to have even a single doubt in your mind.  God is the One who began a good work in you. He is the One who will complete it.

I know that when God spoke to Wayne and I about adopting our sons, we knew that it was a risk. Our oldest son was already 12 years old when we adopted him and his brother was 8.  They had lived a long time in the orphanage and had experienced many painful things.  Wayne and I needed to put our confidence in God Himself who had called us to adopt. He is the One who is working in our sons life and drawing them to Himself.  He has a plan for each of their lives and He is the one who will fulfill His plan…

Put your hope in God’s finishing power. He is the One who is able to great things through His overcoming power.

Prayers Of Power

“Make this your common practice: Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you can live together whole and healed. The prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with. Elijah, for instance, human just like us, prayed hard that it wouldn’t rain, and it didn’t—not a drop for three and a half years. Then he prayed that it would rain, and it did. The showers came and everything started growing again” James 5:16-17 The Message Bible.

Do you ever feel the pressure to be perfect?

One thing that will protect you from perfectionism is to live by James 5:16 and 17.  You and I are encouraged to confess our faults, slips, false steps, offenses and sins to one another.  As we confess our sins openly, we are healed and restored. As you and I are honest before God and one another, our heartfelt prayers will be heard by God.  He will use the prayers of a righteous man or woman today to be like Elijah in the Old Testament. Even though Elijah was a human being with all the feelings, affections and the constitution of you and I, he prayed in earnest for it not to rain and it didn’t. Then when he did ask for rain, he saw the cloud the size of a man’s hand and He believed that God had answered his prayer.

Don’t try to walk into the promises of God in your own strength. Learn the power of humble heartfelt prayer and confession before God and one another. He will cause you to prayer prayers of power over your homes, families and nations of the earth.
