Inherit the Land

Inherit the Land

Do you ever wonder whether it is worth it to do things God’s way?

Psalm 37:9 says, “ For evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait and hope and look for the Lord [in the end] shall inherit the earth.” In the short run, it may look like cheating may get you ahead. But in the long run, God has a way of balancing the eternal scales.

If you choose to walk on a daily basis following God’s word and His will in His way, you will inherit the earth. You will possess all that is valuable and eternal. Choose today to do things God’s way.

Let Love Flow Through You

Let Love Flow Through You

May 22, 2013

Do you find yourself getting angry with your kids.

Psalm 37:8 says, “Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper— it only leads to harm.” As a mom you will undoubtedly have times that you are angry, but in your anger you don’t need to sin. If you lose your temper you will hurt your relationships. It is hard to mend a relationship when it has been torn with angry words.

I made the mistake as a young mom of feeling justified in my anger at times that my children behaved badly. Every child will misbehave at some point in their lives… your role as a mom is to train them to walk in God’s ways without crossing lines where you yell, scream, or discipline in anger.  Remember, love covers a multitude of sins. As you discipline and correct your children do it out of love for them. Let God’s love flow through you.

Rest in God

Rest in God

May 21, 2013

Do you rest in God’s presence?

Psalm 37:7 says “Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him…” To be still in the presence of the LORD, requires you to put your trust in God and not in yourself. It cause you to turn away from self-reliance and to turn to a total confidence in God to bring things to pass.

Think about your life with your family. Are you becoming frustrated with situations that you can’t control?  Are your frustrated with your how your child acts, or your husband, or someone from work. If you are frustrated or fretting, then you are not at rest. To be at rest is to relax in God, to slow down and take a break from striving, to trust God to bring it to pass. What a great way to live — at rest in God’s presence.

Commit Your Way to God

Commit Your Way to God

May 20, 2013

Have you truly given your cares to God?

Psalm 37:5 says “Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.” The word for commit in the Hebrew is a picture of a camel being loaded down with packages getting down on it’s knees and rolling the whole load off of his back. When you truly commit your cares to God you roll them off of your back on to Him.

Today as you think about cares that may be heavy on your back, trust fully in God by confidently passing on your cares and even your desires to Him. He is the One who will bring it to pass in His timing and in His very unique way.
