Made To Crave

Do you crave the things of this world?

1 John 2:15-16 says,  “Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world” (NLT).  As you parent your child, what do they see you craving for?  Are you craving for selfish desires or prideful pursuits. Your child will be able to tell the difference. They will follow your example (for good or for bad).

God uses your call to parent your child to help conform His character in you. He is weeding selfishness of you by giving you an opportunity to be selfless with your daughter or son. Give up the cravings of this world and seek that which truly satisfies, a relationship with Him.
