Believe

“Answer this question: Does the God who lavishly provides you with his own presence, his Holy Spirit, working things in your lives you could never do for yourselves, does he do these things because of your strenuous moral striving or because you trust him to do them in you? Don’t these things happen among you just as they happened with Abraham? He believed God, and that act of belief was turned into a life that was right with God” Galatians 3:5-6 The Message.

Do you tend to strive?

I sometimes feel like I am the queen of strife. It is humbling to admit because really pride is the food of strife. If I have an overly exalted opinion of myself, I think that I can make things happen.

But the word of God is clear in Galatians 3:5-6 that God is the One who provides us with His own presence. It is His Holy Spirit working in us and not ourselves.  You and I need to be more like Abraham. He knew his body was as good as dead and it was impossible for him and Sarah to have children. But he believed God and that act of belief itself made Him right with God. You know, it is impossible to please God without faith. Faith is what moves us into the miraculous.

So, whatever you need, believe God to receive from Him.
