Restored Joy

There is no joy when you disobey God?

King David was so distraught after his sin of adultery and murder that he penned a song of repentance. In Psalm 51:12 David says, “Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you” (NLT).

Often the enemy of our hearts will tempt us to sin, making it seem like a fun thing to do. But don’t buy it. It is a trap that will lead to unhappiness and pain. True joy comes when we turn around and are willing to completely obey God.  Then He restores our joy so that we overflow in Him.

Glorious Miracles

Have you ever noticed that it’s easy to forget God’s glorious miracles?

Psalm 106:1-3 says, “Praise the Lord!Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. Who can list the glorious miracles of the Lord? Who can ever praise him enough? There is joy for those who deal justly with others and always do what is right.

Joy comes when we give thanks to God for His goodness. Joy comes as we walk in integrity, always doing what is right whether someone is watching or not. Joy comes when we remember the glorious miracle of Christ’s birth and His new life in each one of us who calls on His name. This is a season of great joy.

Joy, what’s the secret?

Joy, do you every wonder what is the secret to it.

Psalm 16:11 says: “You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore” (NKJV). The secret is staying in God’s presence. Whenever you or I are lacking, we need to find Jesus. When we abide in Jesus and He abides in us, then we experience fullness of joy.

In every season, in stead of escaping from life, make Jesus the joy of your life. Don’t let shopping malls or buying things be a diversion.   In His presence is fullness of joy.  It will become the fruit of your time with God.

Press On!

Have you ever had the question from your child, “Are we there yet?”

In Philippians 3:14 Paul says “I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.” (NLT).  So many times we get distracted on what is really important in our lives.  A good athlete is very focused on the prize.

You and I need to be diligently pursuing the heavenly prize. Think about the eternal ramifications of leading your child to Christ, of sharing the good news with your neighbor, of fulfilling your calling and destiny in life. Don’t get distracted by how long things take, press on, the prize awaits those who don’t give up!
